Instructions for manually installing the Simulation Virtual Device Driver
for OS/2:
Prerequisites:
1) You must have a 386 or 386SX or above PC
2) You must be using OS/2 2.0 (1.x will not work)
The VDD will allow you to run most SoundBlaster and MPU-401/MT32 or LAPC
applications within an OS/2 2.0 DOS session. Do NOT run the SVAUDIO.EXE.
The VDD will attempt to map the sounds requested by the application to
the nearest M-ACPA sound. In most cases this is quite acceptable, but
in any case it will sound different.

Install Instructions

1) Copy the IBMMPC.DSP file to the root of the C: drive
2) Copy the following drivers to a directory on your hard drive:
SVAUDIO.SYS
VAUDIO.SYS
ACPADD2.SYS
3) Update your C:\CONFIG.SYS to include:
device=SVAUDIO.SYS
device=VAUDIO.SYS
device=ACPADD2.SYS 1
4) Reboot your system and the VDD is ready to go...

MMPM/2 Instructions

If you have MMPM/2 installed on your system, then you should already have a
copy of ACPADD2.SYS installed. If so, then perform the following:
1) Copy the IBMMPC.DSP file to the root of the C: drive
2) Copy the following driver to a directory on your hard drive:
SVAUDIO.SYS
3) Save your current copy of ACPADD2.SYS by copying it to ACPADD2.BAK
4) Copy the new ACPADD2.SYS file over your current copy
5) Update your C:\CONFIG.SYS to include:
device=SVAUDIO.SYS
6) Reboot your system and the VDD is ready to go...
